California

We just got back from California this last Sunday evening, it was a great vacation; very nice to get away. I had forgotten how much i miss that country smell, not the poop just that good clean smell. Anyway it was fun at least for me ans Abagail. Caleb spent almost the whole time studying for a test that he has tomorrow. Who has a test three days after Spring Break anyway??
It was a lot of fun to get to do the things that I wasn't able to do last summer because of the pregnancy, but it was also a rude awakening to see just how out of shape I am. I got to trade with my little sister Melanie and for a couple hours she watched Abagail for me and worked horses. Spring Break was a great get away from Pullman while we were there it was always in the high 60's or low 70's, a fantastic change from the Pullman 40's and wind. So we took some pictures to document the event.
We had a couple fun and exciting things happen while we were there, Abagail learned to crawl!! It was kind of funny all the sudden she could crawl, not very fast but she was moving forward this time. I was so excited for her to learn to crawl but it only been a week and I wish she'd just stop moving!
On Monday we took some cows to Orville for a friend of the family and on the way home stopped by to see our friend Joe Shelton, he runs a rescue facility for Thoroughbred horses, and we ended up taking home a horse. His name is Custom Design and he was born in Florida at a big fancy barn. He was kind of a dud of a race horse though, he only made $3,000 on the track so hopefully he'll be a jumper for me. He's a sweetheart of a horse though. So now we need to sell some horses so you know of anyone who wans a Quarter Horse you can send them my direction :)
FYI: it's thundering and right now, and my big brave Doberman is hiding under the bed crying, while Abby sleeps.
To fill up time I also started training our Quarter Horse mare, I was surprised she was really really good. She knows absolutely nothing but is really smart and easy going. It was nice exercise.
The other really exciting news of the week was my brother and sister both got their mission calls!! They waited so they could open them together so Sunday afternoon everyone in the Provo area got together at Mark and Lisa's i think and we were on Speaker phone in California. Heather is going to Chile, Santiago North mission and Chris is going to Spain, Malaga mission. It was a lot of fun, my other brother Mark went to Spain but in the Bilboa mission but our cousin went to the same mission that Chris is going to. Heather reports to the MTC on May 21st and Chris on July 2nd. THen the day we got back here to Pullman another one of my friends called to say that she had gotten her mission call as well and that she is going to the San Diego mission and reports to the MTC on May 7th. It will be fun I hope Heather, Chris and Paige all run into each other in the MTC. that would be so fun! IF you couldn't tell we're all pretty excited for them. Oh and bothe Heather and Chris are Spanish speaking, Paige is English.
This last week really made me realize how much i missed the farm life. Anyway I think Cezar finally woke Abby up with his crying so I'll finish up later.
Oh, CONGRATULATIONS PAIGE!! since I never actually called you back, sorry!

I bet it was so nice to get to visit California. Abby is so cute and totally a Haws!! She reminds me of my little Kayla. How cute! She is probably keeping you on your toes now that she gets around.
